momstown Calgary is looking for an amazing individual to join our team as an Event Coordinator!

momstown.ca is the leading event and media company that connects and supports real Canadian moms.  This is a great opportunity for you to earn spending money while having the opportunity to work from home and bring your child to work!  This is the perfect role for a SAHM.


The Person:


  • Creative, self-motivated, organized and energetic.  
  • Loves to play, paint, colour, glue, sing and lead circle time.
  • Very comfortable interacting with moms and their kids.
  • Must have a valid driver's license & reliable vehicle
  • Internet savvy with own computer and internet service
  • Have a camera/smart phone to take pictures at events


The Job:

  • Create and customize events from momstown curriculum for mothers and their young children, ages 0 to 6
  • Personally attend and execute events that you are assigned to
  • Become the face of momstown events, welcoming and interacting with members
  • Support momstown Calgary through Social Media (with training)
  • Provide event photos for post event promotion
  • Contribute to blog posts for event recaps
  • Be available for monthly planning meetings
  • Actively participate on momstown Message Board
  • Check calendar for comments and questions on events
  • Help with promotion and execution of major events


The Details:

  • This will be a 6 month, renewable contract
  • Pay will be per event, paid monthly upon receipt of invoice

Calgary Moms: Getting Ready for Baby

Ready Set Grow! is a fun and informative event specifically for expecting moms and moms with new babies.
Our first Ready Set Grow! event in March was a wonderful success and we can't wait for the next one!

momstown Calgary worked with Theresa Matheson of CST Consultants and her team to put together a morning of information on products and services for new moms.

Calgary businesses loved the idea of introducing their company to moms and flooded our event with an amazing collection of gifts and prizes.

When moms arrived, they were greeted with swag bags and draw tickets.  Extra tickets were given for pre-registering for the event and for bringing a friend.

Natalie from Little Wonders entertained the kids in attendance!

Fisher-Price OverJOYed Baby Basics Fun!

momstown Calgary mamas love our Baby Basics program - getting together with and finding support from other moms.  And they were OverJOYed when Fisher-Price sponsored this fun event with some wonderful products to try out!
The babies loved playing with the toys and at the end, four lucky moms walked away with one of the prizes.

With 25 moms and babies in the room, the excitement and fun was wonderful to see (and hear!) 





Fisher-Price have toys for each stage of baby's development, from sensory toys to thinking and problem solving toys.  They recognize the importance of play in a child's development and create fun toys that will entertain and stimulate little minds.

Our babies got to test out the Laugh & Learn Remote, the Ocean Wonders Aquarium, the Laugh & Learn Say Please Tea Set and the My Little Snugabunny Cradle n' Swing.

Pennies For Change

Now that the penny is fazing out of the Canadian currency circulation, what are you going to do with all those pennies that are sitting in your change jar?

 momstown Calgary would love to take them off your hands!  We are collecting pennies for the Little Warriors Pennies for CHANGE!

Little Warriors is a national charitable organization, based in Canada, focusing on the education and prevention of sexual abuse.  Little Warriors teaches adults how to help prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  In addition Little Warriors also provides information about the prevalence and frequency of child sexual abuse and information about healing and support resources.  Little Warriors' vision is to build the first of its kind treatment centre for children, the Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch.
Please spread the word that momstown Calgary is collecting pennies!

If you wish to donate, please bring your pennies to a momstown Calgary event until the end of March.  Marcy, Danielle and Lindsey will be collecting them.

 As a special thank you to ALL that donate their pennies, you will be entered into a draw for one of two $100 Gift Certificates from Tri-Yoga Calgary.  This draw will be made at our Member Meet-Up on Friday April 1st at 10:30am at the Bridgeland Riverside Community Centre.

momstown Discovery Field Trips - Pet Fun

momstown Calgary plans over 20 events every month for moms and kids, and one of our favourites is definitely our Discovery Field Trips!

Our February field trip was a fun visit to the pet store!  Pisces Pet Emporium, Calgary's Pet Store since 1975, is a family-owned business that takes an interest in educating the youth of our community on animals and animal care.  They believe that seeing exotic animals enhances children's appreciation for the variety of life on our planet, and that a hands-on experience engages them with the natural world.



The tour allowed our children to learn about exotic pets, including snakes, koi fish, madagascar monkeys, lizards, Cortez the Parrot and Mortoise the Tortoise!  It also emphasized the responsibility and fun that comes with caring for any pet.


The kids (and mamas!) were able to touch a variety of lizards and cuddly mammals - they loved it!  Katherine, our tour guide offered fun facts about the animals and answered loads of questions from the kids.  The parrot, tortoise and other animals emphasized the importance of long-term relationships with animals and the dedication of their staff demonstrates a love of animals and commitment to their care.  Some of the Pisces staff have been here for 15 years!




We had so much fun on this tour that we have scheduled another one for Friday, March 22 at 10:30am.  Please RSVP for this event on the momstown Calgary calendar so we can let Pisces know how many moms and kids are coming.
