The mamas of momstown Calgary North love our monthly Book Swap and Movie and Munchie Night so much so, that this past month, we decided to combine our two faves and host them on one night. Recently, we've changed the platform of our movie night. What was once a blockbuster night out at the theatre is now a comfortable viewing of documentaries and short films in the comfort of home amongst great company. Our Book Swap remains the same and although the event title can be misleading, we actually do more than swap books. The better part of the outing is spent chatting the evening away with thoughts of bedtime routine left safely at home.
On this particular night, our Book Swap/Movie Night Duo began with chatter and awesome munchies (red velvet cupcakes anyone?), continued with a short film and wrapped up with the Book Swap. The film, Deedah, is one close to my heart and one that many members expressed an interest in viewing. And, the Book Swap gave me the good fortune of coming home with Room, a book I can't wait to get into. If you enjoy an awesome read, taking in a film here and there, and most of all, connecting with like-minded moms, join us.
