Calgary is a wonderful community to live in for so many reasons. The proximity to the Rocky Mountains, the wonderful opportunities, and the friendly atmosphere may immediately come to mind, but one of my favourite things about living here is the way that Calgarians rally together to support the vulnerable among us. I have talked before our about momstown Calgary's involvement with Made by Momma and the EvenStart Foundation. This weekend, we were privileged to be a part of "A Stir Crazy Quest of the Heart", a fundraiser organized by our friends at Stir Crazy Family Fun Centre in support of Alexander's Quest.
Alexander's Quest is an organization started in memory of Alexander
Edwin Brown, who died of brain cancer on the 23rd of October 2010. He was
only 2 years old. It's purpose is to raise awareness of, and funds to support research into childhood brain tumours, and also to grant the "little wishes" of children who are terminally ill with cancer, filling their final days with joy.
Stir Crazy and Alexander's Quest did an incredible job organizing the sold out event. There was face painting provided by Amandamazing Art and Face Painting, balloon twisting, magic tricks by Christopher Cool, visits from Dora and Diego and Princesses Rapunzel and Beauty, incredible food, door prizes and silent auction items, and so much more. In total, almost $10,000 was raised. We were able to contribute in a small way by hosting a craft table where kids could decorate crowns and become the Kings and Queens of Hearts.

We had so much fun, and were so thankful to be able help fill the final days of little cancer warriors with joy.
