Family Fun this Summer in the Calgary

Calgary has so many wonderful things for families to do.  momstown Calgary has been having fun in our amazing city - here are some great ideas for you and your family to enjoy in Calgary this summer.

Parks - Calgary has some amazing parks!  We have visited a lot so far and have plans in or August calendar to visit even more!  Here are a few faves: 

South Glenmore Park - Picassos in the Park was fun at this park.  The kids had fun creating their masterpieces and then cooled down in their fun splash pad.  They also have playground equipment that our little ones loved.

Elliston Park is a hidden gem in the SE that was home to some amazing fireworks during this year's Stampede celebration.  They have lots of grass for the kids to run free and a great park for little ones!

Bridgeland Riverside Community Centre (the site of our upcoming 5th Birthday Party!) is centrally located with lots of community parking.  It also boasts a very cool park.

Riley Park - a momstown fave - our babes love wading through the pools at this park.  Also centrally located with lots of green space.

Prairie Winds Park - a fantastic spray park and wading pool.  This park also features a man-made creek.

 

Indoor Play Centers - momstown is lucky to have two great places to play indoors. 

Stir Crazy Family Fun Centre - Every Wednesday, you'll find our Baby Basics Program in the Green Room and the last Wednesday of the month is our Member Meet & Greet - come out and meet new moms and re-connect with moms you've aready met.  Our older kids enjoy playing in the fun play structure and soaring in the bounce house.  Parents can relax in the parent & tot lounge, and everyone can enjoy a yummy cupcake!  

Fun N' More - momstown members in the south have been enjoying Baby Basics here on Tuesdays.  Calgary's newest indoor play center has a huge play structure, an ice rink, mini-golf and more!  

City Events - our city provides some amazing programs and momstown Calgary is there!

Lawn Chair Theatre - free events, taking place in city parks all summer long, complete with snacks.  Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the entertainment! 

Drums on the Hill - our kids learned about different drums, instruments and rhythms!

Wagonstage - University of Calgary Drama Dept teams up with City of Calgary to bring science, nature and performing arts to children.  Check out their link for times and dates still to come!

And no summer activity list would be complete without mentioning the biggest momstown bash!  Our 5th Birthday Party is on Monday, August 20th and will be full of fun activities for everyone!  Clifford the Big Red Dog will be visiting!  This is a free family event so tell invite your friends!
