It's a given 'round these parts. Bring on June and bring on the rain. If I remember correctly, it has generally done its thing by mid-June and we're all of sudden basking in rays of sunshine. But not this year!! The rain won't quit and twice now, it has hampered our plans for the momstown "Fancy" Zoo Day. It's ok, though. We didn't let the rain dampen our spirits; we didn't succumb to the nagging voice telling us it would be a perfect P.J. day. Instead, we packed up the kids and hit an indoor play space. Cross Iron Mills is a haven for moms with its wide open spaces, indoor play park, kid-friendly food court, floor art, the list goes on. It is particularly enjoyable during the weekdays, when the mall isn't quite so busy.
(Note: The picture might be a little fuzzy, there might be a kid or two missing and no one appears to be looking at the camera but hey, nobody's perfect, right?)
So, we met at the play park, burned off some energy then hit the food court for some lunch. It really was win, win for everyone as the moms even had time to squeeze in a little shopping for themselves. As fun as our indoor playdate was, we are still planning (and hoping) for sunny days ahead. Our kids are patiently waiting to get "fancy" for the zoo. You should join us when we finally do go!!
