It's Backyardigans Week - Win Tickets to See Them Live!

I remember the first time I was introduced to The Backyardigans.  It was about 5 years ago, and I was visiting my sister and my then 2 year old nephew.  The Backyardigans was one of his favourite shows, and I too was quickly captivated by the adventures of Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, Uniqua, and Austin.  I loved the unique and fun characters, and was drawn in by the clever lyrics and infectious melodies of the songs.  I may or may not have gone home and watched some episodes by myself, and I know I'm not alone.  Several of my adult friends have admitted that they too have been known to tune in even when their little ones are somewhere else.  There is something about the show that is universally appealing, whether you are two, or 42 years old.

That's why I was so excited when I heard that the live tour of The Backyardigan Quest for the Extraordinary Aliens was coming to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary on Saturday, September 24th.  I knew this was going to be one children's performance that I would enjoy almost as much the kids would.  The Backyardigans Quest for the Extraordinary Aliens takes the audience on a non-stop musical expedition as The Backyardigans become Daring Detectives, Cookie Security Guards and Space Ace Reporters who travel in hot pursuit of a mysterious space ship and its missing passengers - the cookie-crumbing Aliens! We'll get to follow along with the gang as they travel to shivering Frozen Toes Mountain, the blistering Hot Footsy Desert and the volcanic Lost Pirate Island - singing and dancing the whole way!    

Did you notice I said "we'll get to follow along"?  Yes, that's right, momstown Calgary is giving away a free family pack of tickets to see The Backyardigan Quest for the Extraordinary Aliens live in Calgary on September 24th.  In celebration of this fantastic news, we are declaring this week as "Backyardigans Week" on our facebook page.  All week long we'll be sharing fun Backyardigans trivia on facebook, and on September 2nd we'll draw the lucky winner.
