Calgary Moms and Kids Beat the Winter Blues with Music, Crafts and More!

It may be cold outside in Calgary.
But momstown moms and kids have been beating the winter blues with some indoor, fun activities.

momstown has 6 Program Pillars that define our event curriculum.  Every month, we host events that fall within these Pillars that are fun and educational for our kids.  Here is a bit of information on some of the events we had fun with this month.

Music and Movement, a program geared towards toddlers, has us singing and moving.  Moms with babies are very welcome - the little ones love bouncing around with their mamas.  This month, we played with hula hoops and balloons. And you can't forget about singing "Shake Your Sillies Out" and "The Hokey Pokey".

momstown is very thrilled to have our Music & Movement program at Free House Dance.  Free House Dance offers a huge variety of programs for all ages - African, Flamenco, Yoga, Belly, Hip-Hop and more!

For Remembrance Day we had a special Alphabet Play - P is for Poppy.  We paid our respects by making poppies out of water bottles. Ryley loved adding the final touches to his flower for mom.

At Junior Chef this month, we made Gingerbread Houses. It was a special 'make it, break it, eat it' project.  We used fruit to decorate the houses, and when the kids were finished building, they broke them and ate them! YUMMY!

Our momtown Baby Basics program is a unique program for moms with babies 0 to 12 months.  We offer speakers, crafts and of course, moms get a chance to get out of the house with their new babies.  It is a great opportunity to meet other moms and talk about kids and whatever else comes to mind.  This month, we created hand-shaped ornaments for Baby's First Christmas. One of the first home-made ornaments our little cuties will make for their christmas trees!  Watch our calendar for our Wee Piggies and Paws ornament making classes coming up.

momstown is so grateful to Fun N More in South Calgary and Stir Crazy in North Calgary for welcoming our moms and babies ever week.

November has been a fun month! With December fast approaching, we hope to see all our moms and munchkins out at our upcoming momstown events.

Don't forget about our Holiday Celebration on December 13. RSVP on our momstown Calendar or on the Facebook page.
