Fern Resort Hosts momstown - Canada's Largest Mom-Focused Event and Media Company

Last weekend, momstown Chapter owners from across Canada travelled to Fern Resort in Orillia, Ontario.  We were there to gather and learn together at our momstown Fall Conference.

momstown is a National event and media company and with over 20 Chapters across Canada.  With this many business women spread over Canada, we only get to come together twice a year to grow our businesses, learn from each other and share our successful (and not-so-successful) stories.

We arrived in style in a range of vehicles supplied by Honda Canada -the Accord, CRV, Pilot and my personal favourite, the Odyssey!  Once there, we were treated to a swag bag full of wonderful gifts.  Huge thanks to Scholastic Canada for the goodie bags - loved the books, the bag and especially the reading cape!  I was also thrilled with the box of Black Magic chocolates - a delicious treat at the end of a long day in the conference room.




Fern Resort is located about 90 minutes north of Toronto on the east side of Lake Couchiching.  It is a beautiful property with activities for everyone.  From the time I arrived, I was treated to first-class service.  Every staff member I came across was polite, friendly and quick to help.















The cottage I stayed in was very quaint and functional, complete with a fireplace - definitely a nice touch for the cool nights.  The bed was so incredibly comfortable and I had some of my best sleeps ever!


The dining room was staffed with super-friendly servers that were always there to greet us with a smile when we  arrived.  They brought us mounds of delicious food that we consistently ate too much of!  My personal favourites were the Asparagus Tartlet, the Bruschetta, the Bacon Cheeseburger and I had the most amazing Butter Tart one night for dessert.  When you book your next vacation at Fern Resort, it is nice to know that you don't have to worry about budgeting for meals - your meals are included in the cost of your stay.

Amidst all this delicious food and these beautiful surroundings, our momstown team of incredible women spent four days collaborating and planning our 2013 year in business.  I am constantly amazed by the amount of knowledge and support that comes from this group of business women.

This was our biggest and best conference yet and staying all together at this wonderful resort played a huge part.  Thank you to the staff and I hope to be back again with my family!
