"An Attitude of Thanks....
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 little ones. My hands are full,
literally, most minutes of the day. Those fleeting quiet moments, even if they
happen to be in the pantry or laundry room, are energizing and ever-so-needed
during a busy day. Admist the chaos of this hectic life, the opportunity
of motherhood is something I cherish whole-heartedly.
Carrying an attitude of thanks through the year helps me
through my journey of my full-time job of being a mom. Being thankful for the
daily perks like unexpected hugs, sloppy kisses or the stolen ones, messy
spaghetti dinners, and bedtime stories can carry me to days end and stay with
me forever. All these little things are daily reminders to carry a daily
attitude of thanks.
Teaching thanks is important. As our child
ren grow, we teach
them to be thankful and grateful for what they have. We did a small
simple craft during my 6 year old's recent sick day from school and decorated a
Be Thankful Tree. I had her list and write 6 things she was most thankful
for on paper leaves. At first she was a bit stumped, but once she got on a
roll, she realized there are so many "little" things that we may take
for granted day to day. We taped the leaves on some striped sticks we have
placed in a vase for a modern twist on our Be Thankful Tree. We have much
to be thankful for. My favourite: "A cosy (cozy) home."
And, from our cozy home to yours, we wish you a Happy
Thanksgiving and an year filled with abundant gratitude for your journey
through motherhood. As being a mom, what are YOU most thankful for?"
Thank you Sarah for sharing with us!
