The Calgary Stampede always begins with a giant parade. Crowds normally start gathering as early as 5:00 in the morning to snag prime viewing spots along the parade route. This year, with the participation of Prince William and Kate in the parade, the competition for spots began even earlier, with some people camping on the streets overnight to save their spaces. It was busy, and a bit chilly before the parade started:

momstown Calgary was lucky to be able to avoid the crowds, and enjoy the festivities from the balcony of one of our members. There was square dancing in the street:

And line dancing too:

Then, the Royal motercade passed by. They went quickly, and you couldn't see much, but it was still exciting:

Finally, it was time for the floats and marching bands:

There was even a pancake breakfast float, complete with pancake people:

Parades are always pleasing, but with momstown they're a party! We're looking forward to more fun at our park playdates this week, and to eating lots of pancakes at the
Northland Village Mall Stampede breakfast on Thursday.
